A

• Accumulation Type: A Ki Manipulation Technique where one borrows ki from other individuals and releases it.
• Afterlife: A dimension where souls venture after death.
• Afterimage Type: A sub-type of techniques that involve the Afterimage Technique.
• Angel: A race that exist to serve as attendants to the Hakaishin.
• Alternation Type: A Ki Manipulation Technique where the user arranges the structure of their attacks into specific shapes.
• Anime Timeline: The history of the anime and its continuations.
• Attack-Assisting Type: A vague category of Ki Manipulation Technique that "assists" the user, either by powering them up, providing defence, or supplementary effects.
• Aura: A byproduct of releasing a tremendous amount of ki.

B

• Basic Type: The most common types of Physical Martial Arts and Ki Manipulation Techniques. These consist of punching, kicking, charging, or the act of gathering ki in one's palm to release ki.
• Bio-Android: An artificial life form made from an amalgamation of various species' genetic material.
• Blending Type: Ki Manipulation Techniques that combine two or more of the available classifications.
• Body Attack: See Physical Martial Arts Technique.

C

• Check-In Station: See Enma Realm.
• Chi: See Ki.
• Chi Strength: See Combat Strength.
• Combat Strength (戦闘力, Sentō Ryoku): A term referring to the amount of ki one possesses.
• Combination Type: Physical Martial Arts Techniques which combine the three varieties of Basic Types in sequence.
• Continuous Type: Ki Manipulation Techniques which rapidly fire Kikōha.
• Concentration Type: Ki Manipulation Techniques where one concentrates ki into their fingertips, mouths, or another part of their body and releases it.
• Core Person: See Shinling.

D

• Dai Kaiōshin: The title of the leader of the Kaiōshin.
• Demon: A race of evil beings who live within the Demon Realm.
• Demon Realm: A dimension wherein Demons reside.
• Demon Realm of Darkness: See Demon Realm.
• Detachment Type: Physical Martial Arts Techniques where the user detaches parts of their body for use in combat.
• Devil Realm: See Demon Realm.
• Dragon Ball: Magical spheres that conjure a dragon to grant a wish when gathered together.

E

• Enma Realm: The residence of Enma and a Japanese palace where souls are judged.
• Energy: See Ki.
• Emergency Attack: See Unique Attack.
• Emperor: The title of a monarch who rules an empire.

G

• God: A deity who governs an aspect of a universe. It can also refer to the guardian of a specific planet.
• God Ki: The unique ki possessed by deities.
• God of Destruction: See Hakaishin.
• Grand Priest: The leader and "father" of the Angels.
• Grand Supreme Kai: See Dai Kaiōshin.
• Guardian: See God.

H

• Hakaishin: Deities whose job it is to destroy planets and life to keep the balance of their universe.
• Heaven: A planet in the Afterlife where good souls go after they die.
• Hell: A dimension in the Afterlife where bad souls go after they die.
• H.F.I.L.: See Hell.
• Human: A race of evolved primate mortals that inhabit Earth.
• Hypnosis: Unique Techniques involving mental manipulation to cause one to see illusions or fall asleep.

I

• Intent Type: A type of Physical Martial Arts based on combat forms or movement mimicry.

K

• Kai: See Kaiō.
• Kaiju: The tree from which all Shinling are born.
• Kaiō: Members of the Shinling species who oversee one of the four quadrants of a universe.
• Kaiōshin: Members of the Shinling species who are born a golden fruit and oversee a universe.
• Kaiōshin Realm: A separate dimension where the Kaiōshin reside.
• Ki: A being's life force that, in large quantities, grant the user vastly increased attributes and the ability to project it in the form of energy attacks.
• Kiai Type: Ki Manipulation Techniques that utilise the invisible kiai.
• Ki Manipulation Technique: Techniques which manipulate the ki of the user for a specific effect.
• King: A male monarch.
• King of the Twelve Universes: The title of the ruler of a Multiverse.

• Linking Type: A type of Physical Martial Arts Technique where more than one individual participates in a technique.
• Living World: A dimension where living beings exist.
• Lord of Lords: See Kaiōshin.
• Lord of the Worlds: See Kaiō.

M

• Magic: See Sorcery.
• Martial Arts: A term that refers to multiple disciplines of physical combat.
• Martial Artist: A person who practices martial arts.
• Merging Type: Techniques which merge two or more individuals into a single being.
• Mind Power Attack: See Ki Manipulation Technique.
• Movement Type: Ki Manipulation Techniques which involve transportation.
• Multiverse: A collection of universes within the Omniverse.

N

• Namekian: A race hailing from the Planet Namek.
• Ninjutsu: Unique Techniques involving ninja arts.

O

• Omniverse: A collection of Multiverses in which all that exists resides.
• Other World: See Afterlife.

P

• Physical Martial Arts Technique (体術技, Taijutsu Waza): The classification of physical techniques, refers to any techniques involving the martial arts or the optimisation of natural abilities. Does not need to refer to a technique of an actual martial art.
• Power Level: See Combat Strength.

R

• Real Story: A term used to refer to the manga Dragon Ball story.
• Ryūjin: The original god of the dragons who first created the Dragon Balls.

S

• Sacred World of the Kai: See Kaiōshin Realm.
• Sealing Type: Ki Manipulation Techniques which seal the target away.
• Secret Type: Physical Martial Arts Techniques where a user attacks with liquid secretly hidden within their body.
• Serpent Road: A snake-like path that leads from the Enma Realm to North Kaiō's planet.
• Shinling: A race of gods born from fruits.
• Snake Way: See Serpent Road.
• Sorcery (魔術, Majutsu): A form of Unique Techniques involving the magical arts.
• Soul: The formless essence of a deceased living being.
• Sōzōshin: Deities whose job it is to create planets and seed life on them.
• Supreme Kai: See Kaiōshin.

T

• Timeline: A History in the Omniverse.
• Time Ring: An artifact that allows Kaiōshin to travel to the future and then back to their original point in the past. It also allows them to view unnatural alternate timelines.
• Tracking Type: Ki Manipulation Techniques where the ki is capable of tracking the target. The advantage to this type of technique is precise aiming.
• Trunks' World: The timeline from which the future Trunks originates.
• Tuffle: The original humanoid inhabitants of Planet Vegeta.

U

• Universe: A space wherein galaxies, planets, stars, and beings both living and dead reside.
• Unique Technique (特殊技, Tokushu Waza): Unique techniques are techniques which do not fit the classifications Physical Martial Arts Technique and Ki Manipulation Technique. These techniques are either magic, or secret arts passed down through the generations.

• Variant: A counterpart of an individual from another History.

W

• World Tree: See Kaiju.
• Weapon Technique: Techniques which utilise the use of weaponry. By far the least common technique, as many fighters use ki or physical martial arts.
